We’ve wrapped up Great American Smokeout 2023. And we all agree it was The Greatest One Ever.

The team at Roswell Park put together and distributed information packets for community health partners, as well as set up an educational table on campus.

Our Reality Check group at Falconer High School crafted the message “Flavors are the lure! Nicotine is hook to catch kids” with put-in cups on their school’s fence. Reasearch shows that if young people smoke, vape, or chew tobacco products they probably use a product that is flavored other than tobacco. Luckily, in New York State we have free resources to help people quit, young people can text DROPTHEVAPE to 88709 and adults can call the NYS Smoker’s Quitline at 1-866-697-8487 or visit www.nysmokefree.com . It is never to late to start your quit journey. #gaso @nysmokefree

In Wyoming County, the TF-GOW honored the #GreatAmericanSmokeout with members of the Partners for Prevention at their coalition meeting. We’re thankful to the supervisor, and coalition coordinator, Sabrina Wright for giving us time on the agenda to speak, as well as facilitate a great discussion on youth vaping and other tobacco-related issues. Here’s the group with their GASO information packets. #gaso2023 Photo cred: RealityCheck Brittany #itsnotjust
